After practising in law in Sydney, Australia, John Riddel visited France and immediately adopted the country, the lifestyle, and… the waterways. He served as skipper for various employers, and with nerves of steel and gentle persuasion, held his own in the environment of the professional mariniers. He managed the Loire Line base at Marseilles-les-Aubigny before becoming managing director of Crown Blue Line in Castelnaudary. He left the company in 1996 to form Les Éditions du Breil, publisher of waterway guides. |
